Prof. dr. Savvas Vassiliadis
Prof. Dr. Savvas Vassiliadis holds a Diploma in Textile Engineering, a BSc in Electronics, an MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a PhD in Computational Modelling.
After his early industrial career, in the University of West Attica he has held several senior leadership positions, including Head of the Department, Vice Rector for International Relations, member of the Senate and Institutional Erasmus Coordinator. He was the founding President of the Balkan Society of Textile Engineers.
Prof. Vassiliadis has participated in numerous nationally and EU-funded projects. His research interests encompass textile modelling, multifunctional and smart materials, and digital and embedded systems.
He is the author of more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications, as well as 15 book chapters and technical handbooks. Until 2025, he served as President of the Association of Universities for Textiles (AUTEX). He currently holds the title of Professor Emeritus and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the AUTEX Research Journal.
