Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Yordan Kyosev
Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Yordan Kyosev is Full Professor and Chair of the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology (ITM) at TU Dresden, where he has led the Chair of Development and Assembly of Textile Products since 2019. He earned his engineering degree in Textile and Clothing Technology, an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics, and a Ph.D. in Textile Machinery from Technical University of Sofia, and habilitation at Chemnitz University of Technology in 2018. Before joining TU Dresden, he was Professor of Textile Materials, Textile Technology and Quality Management at Hochschule Niederrhein (2006–2019).
Prof. Kyosev’s research focuses on textile engineering, computational modeling of textile structures, textile product development, braiding and warp-knitting technologies, textile assembly processes, and digital design and simulation of textile products. He is recognized internationally for his contributions to geometric and mechanical modeling of textile structures and has developed specialized CAD software for textile engineering through TexMind. He is the author of several influential books, including Braiding Technology for Textiles (2014), Warp Knitted Fabrics Construction (2019), and Topology-Based Modeling of Textile Structures and Their Joint Assemblies (2019). He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics and the Diamond Open Access Journal Communications in Development and Assembly of Textile Products (www.cdatp.org).
